Some of you know who Steve Engel was, and what happened. If not heres a quick bio, Steve owned a heavy hauling trucking company and made some of the biggest trailer in the USA. He was a true racer on the weekends. He got into the Pro Mod cars about 4-5 years ago, Bought a used car and ran quick 16 local, and wanted to go faster. He had a new 1963 Vette built. Last year steve was in the top 5 in the world in the class. Bristol 2008 he got his 1st win in the Jegs Pro Mod. Then onto Indy, in the 2nd or 3rd round of qualifing, his car got loss and went across the track. He hit the wall at around 180-200 MPH(as they say). Well things didnt work out. He passed away.

In the mean time, a buddy of mine was redoing a 1972 El Camino for him. Frame off, 454 Big Block, 4 speed, Hotchkis TVS, Hydroboost, Wilwood, Vintage Air, Stainless Works headers, and much more.

Well here are some pics of the car, and around the race car shop.

My dad, brother and i were asked to help my buddy out. So we go and help when we get some free time. But this is a really fun build. Just funny not having steve around.

I want to thank Frank(GP) and Jon (Driverz) for all the great parts we have got from them.

Steve is missed ALOT.

Frank i wanted to tell you that those SW headers, are the best set of headers i have even put on a car. You can get all the bolt easy, plugs easy. Hell of alot better then the last set of hookers i put on. The fit and finish is top notch.

I wish they had a set for my S-10.

Very sad. I think about this situation every now and again, and it makes me feel thankful of the little things.

Wheels look good bolted on the chassis. Let me know if/when I can help with anything else.
