Decided to dump my wifes car for something new.

We were down to the 09 Subaru Forrester and the Saturn Vue. We test drove both and felt the Saturn had better fit and finish on the interior. The Subaru's 4-cyl boxer engine was better than the Saturn's 4-cylinder but the Saturn V6 (250hp) blew the Subie away. Plus the Subie guys weren't offering ANY rebates or incentives. Got them down to 500 under invoice, but that's it...

Went to the Saturn dealer and found an 08 XR that had been hanging out on the lot for a year. It was fully loaded except AWD and a sunroof. Since my wife doesn't like sunroofs that wasn't a big deal. The color is the same at the 'Vette Atomic Orange and the tan leather interior is sweet and very well done. It has the upgraded audio system, nav, heated seats, stabil-a-trak, and it move sout pretty dang good.

Sticker was $30,403 and we got it for a hair over $25,000... :woot:
We think it's a hell of a value for that price and it felt good to buy from an American company. Besides, it was just a better car and value compared to the foreign ones we looked at (we didn't even consider Ford or Dodge).

Anyways.. Here's my wifes new car.. she named it "Good Penny" :lmao:

What's funny is that the dealer had two 08s on the lot in this color (the other was a loaded REDLINE model.. said it's not a good seller

Obviously we disagree.. lol

nice car. Steve you need to edit your post though. Had me confused with saying Saturn when you meant Subbie

Looks great Steve. My wife loves her Outlook.

GM interiors have come lightyears ahead from where they were.

My wife and I love her '04 Saturn Vue Redline V6 AWD. 72,000 miles and still on the original tires. no problems at all and still pretty fun to drive. We got ours in Electric Lime Green, kind of hard to miss in a parking lot. I added a K&N FIPK, definately added some oomph according to my buttdyno. Kind of sounds like when you flip the air cleaner lid on a Q-jet car.

It got bonus points for being GM, but it won based on quality and value.

Plus I like Jennifer to have the safety of OnStar, big bonus there.

By any chance did you take a peek at the Aura? Wondering if the interior is as nice.

Yea, but it was when GM had me to Santa Barbara to drive it and the Sky Redline.

The AURA was VERY nice and had a great ride with low noise. The one I had was in leather and was a "baseball glove" color. It was stunning.

So yes, they have very nice interiors.. GM finally got thier stuff together in regards to interiors on some of thier cars.

Cool. I'm in the market for a new or used mid-sized SUV. On the new side of things, I've been considering the Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia (same thing, different trim). Problem is, the dealers in my area aren't bending as much as I think they should on the price. I thought they were hurting for sales????:hmm::dunno:

Very nice looking car! My wife has 125k on her Vibe and I was just thinking about a new car... that may fit the bill nicely!
