I have been browsing for some classic car insurance for my car. Is there anyone with any suggestions on what company to use. I am thinking about going with Grundy. They seem pretty picky though they ask that I sign a letter that says, I will only use the car for hobby purposes only no driving to work, running errands, don't use it for a back up vehicle. Is this pretty much standard with classic car insurance?

Hagerty doesn't really care except for the explicit no coverage while racing endorsement - they do cover you on the way there/back and in the pits

I just signed up with Heacock (http://www.heacockclassic.com/site/).

For the amount of insurance I got I was pretty happy with the price. I also like that I can do anything with MotiV8r but drive it to work and race it. But, it is covered say at the race track driving around. Just not on the track.

If you need a price contact Kendra at [email protected] and let her know you heard about them from Prodigy Customs. Frank turned me on to them and I'm happy.

I just filled out their form. My Hagerty renewal is coming up and would like to compare.

I have my insurance with this agent.

They have an optional 9-5 rider that does allow me to drive it to work and be covered. It's still not insurance that let's you use it as a daily driver, but it doesn't penalize you from enjoying the car. It's a limited use policy. I have 5k miles per year with the 9-5 rider and I think I'm still under $500 a year for coverage.

I know a lot of guys who use him and all are happy. I do know of one guy who just totalled his car and last I heard they were working all the details out with him. Not sure how it panned out, but I haven't heard any bad news on the other forum he's at, so I think it's going fine.

I didn't want to pay for daily driver insurance through state farm, so this has been a good option for me.

Good luck with your hunt.
