Correct trans yoke centering on subframe centerline?

Hey guys, I have a 69' Camaro, LS1/T56. Hooker adapter plates, small block frame mounts.

I'm making a custom X-member and I need to know the correct centering of the transmission yoke. It seems I read somewhere that the trans is over the the left of the chassis centerline by 1/2" as well as the rear diff is over to the right by a 1/2".

I'm just looking for the correct way to do this without a vibration. I don't care about originality. I have it in the center at the moment and all is good, but I only want to do this once.

I did perform a search and didn't find my answer.

I am same boat: ls1/t56, street n performance plates, smallblock mounts and street n performance crossmember... There is enough slop to set the transmission driveline an inch either side...I assume it is supoosed to be centered but would like to hear somebody chime in on this.

Hotel.....check out THIS (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=146441) link. I found a little info on it, but I still haven't confirmed it 100% yet. I did go around to two driveline shops around here and they told me strait up should be the way to do it. I also got the same response from two local 1/4 mile racers. I also found that my rear axle yoke is approx 3/4" to the right from center. So that should help a little.

So, I am going to go with the output shaft of the trans to be dead center between the frame rails....and hope for no vibes. If anything, I'd play with the pinion angle. I gotta get this right cause I'm running 4.88 gears and the DS will be haulin' some serious a$$.
