how the hell do they make so much power on these things with those tiny little intake bells!!!!! DAMN!
what are those 1.5 diameter
50mm restrictors. Still makes 700+ HP with them. Lots of dyno work, tuning, and research. Amazing what a few million will do for your engine development.
Tyler
Car looks great Tyler. I love the wide body treatment.
As far as I know the company that built the radiators for the C6R is DeWitts. They are in Michigan. I have one of their radiators on my TA and have used them on many customer's cars. I like them a lot. Check them out if you haven't made your decision on radiator yet.

i really like the fender flares. Gives it that old trans-am look. did they make them or buy them?

You can also look into a Howe Racing radiator. I know they have done work for Pratt and Miller before and we used them on our SCCA GT cars. They also have the best pricing when it somes to radiators inless you want to pay $2000 for a griffin radiator.

Tyler,
It's great to see that car making progress again. Love the flairs (and I wasn't sure I would).

Tyler after looking at these pics I think we should order a radiator with AN fittings instead of angled hose barbs.

Engine is setback to the point that the firewall and the base of the windshield will be even.

Have fun changing plugs, its a pain with the engine sunk in under the cowl.
Love the build tho.

Love the build tho.
The firewall will be made so that the cowl panel is just a cover. Once removed you can see all 4 plugs on each side. Easy breezey.

Holy mother of all intakes Batman! That would be trick!
And I'm not usually a fan of the whole flared thing but keep the car close to the ground like that and you have my vote!
Keep it going Tyler - looking good!

I recall Rodger saying they will get back on it after the SEMA thrash. This is a car I like many others really want to see done, and I remember this car from CamaroZ28.com days when he was the pioneer and transplanted back then latest and greatest LT1 and T56 tranny.

Hey guys. I've been lurking around here and biting my tongue trying to keep myself out of trouble. The project is in the que at Ironworks, sounds like some serious milestones are going to be hit after SEMA.
Rodger was working on an insane truck (http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=33810) that will be at the SEMA show as well as a 67 Camaro that has some killer work done to it.
He has been the best builder I have ever worked with and I can't stress enough how happy I am with his work, communication, pricing, and ethics. The Camaro will be hitting the ground on its own wheels shortly. Can't wait to see it as a roller again.

Looks great Tyler.
I've been following your car since before you sent it to Wayne's shop.
Sorry to see that things didn't work out but I think in the end you have a way better product.
I see that you went with C6 in the back now instead of the C5. I love the flares, they look killer and they are appropriate for the style of the car.
I've been away from this group for a while now. I was a member when Larry first started it, probably 11 or 12 years ago now. I know my second son wasn't born and he's 10 now.
At the time I had a 69 Camaro and I built my own front subframe using C4 vette and a Dana 44 IRS out back. I sent it to a shop to get a full chromoly cage installed which the guy did a great job on.
The sheet metal work to button up the holes was another thing though. I know how you feel when you have to do something over again. I ended up install a complete new replacement floor and redoing a whole bunch of other items.
I had an LS1 and T56 in the car, unfortunately I got separated before the completion of the car and had to sell it.
So that's about 7 years ago, lots has changed, I hope to have another 69 Camaro project by spring of next year.
Plans are for LS3, the new 6060 six speed, Dutchman 9" IRS center section, full C6 front and rear and maybe a cage, not sure about that yet.
It's good to see some familiar names still in the game.
I looked for the old pics of my car from the previous site but I guess Larry has purged those now.
Look forward to seeing more pics.

Hey all. Had people on other forums ask about the car ans yes, the car is still at Ironworks.
Lucky for me Rodger has been super awesome to work with, keeping me updated on where it is in the que and being patient with me as life gets in the way of building cars. I'm totally fine with being on the back burner as watching Greg's bubble top is giving me ideas on how to dump more money into it while it is in Rodgers possession.
In the mean time, John McBride and I have been revisiting the body modifications and are working out a new extractor hood and side rocker to match the amazing flares that Ironworks did.
I'm happy with the hood design, but I'm still up in the air with the rockers. What do you guys think?
Hood:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/01/1ioehz-1.jpg
Rocker 1:

Rocker 2:

Rocker 3:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/01/2cxfhcp-1.jpg
Rocker 4:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/01/nz4v21-1.jpg
I'm leaning toward number 2 myself, but I almost feel a combo of 1 and 2 mixed might be the hot ticket.

Number 2, but extend the rear of the flare to cover the tire. It will be more aerodynamic and reduce drag.

Oh yeah, I have a 1968 Camaro still. To be honest I don't give it much thought these days. I've taken on another line of work and have been trying to get another startup business off the ground, so this car project has once again taken to the back burner while I focus on other things. Rodger, as always, has been a saint to work with, and at this point probably hates that I've been slow to make progress and take more active interest in the car.
So last year John McBride and I finalized the race car touches to the body work, and I finalized the prototypes I've been trying to get to market for 7 years now. As soon as I have the capital to launch I'll make an announcement and become a PT and LatG sponsor and contributing member again.
Until that day, here is the last update I'll make for the time being.

Tyler,
My friend, the car rendering is amazing!!
Leave it to you to keep push the design of PT cars further and further!
I can't wait to see what you have to come out with next and see back as a active member in the community that you helped create!
If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to contact me! still at the same number here in Las Vegas (702)677-4085
I am trying myself to come up with the capital to start a shop geared towards LS swaps, pro-touring cars and some offroad work
Can't wait until 50/50 is finally complete!

Guess who finally squirreled enough cheddar away to stop paying monthly storage and maybe, juuuuussssst maybe get this thing out of Rodger's shop and back home to my loving garage?
Me.
It was me. That was a good guess. You were right.
All I will say at this point is that Rodger Lee owner of Ironworks Speed and Kustoms is a professional. He has been more patient with me than my own flesh and blood parents. (and they had to suffer through me learning to play the drums in their house as a teenager)
I've taken up an entire section of Rodger's back storage for many years now, decommissioned a chassis table for a decade, and probably caused a few thousand jokes about my car at his expense. Again, he has been nothing but understanding, accommodating, communicative, and a very cool guy when it came to my many stall outs, fund shortages, plan revamps, and career changes.
I'll let Rodger decide if he would like to update this thread to include any build photos. I'll try and check in but these days message forums are very tough to keep up with.
That said, here is 4-5 years worth of dust and rust seeing the light of day once again. The world champion of stalled-never-completed-out-of-my-budget-project-car-from-1999; the 50/50 Camaro.
