To do the entire floor of a 1st gen F-body, how much POR15 does it take?

You can probably get it covered with just a quart, maybe just a little over, I believe!

WAY less than 1 quart will do the interior floor. I have had a qt of black last me a long time. Shelf life is not supposed to be long, but I have had it forever and used it on several projects. I have transferred the paint to a new can once in a while so it stays sealed. BTW....if you pour it out of the can, clean the rim perfect or it will glue itself shut and you will have to destroy the lid to get it open next time.

It depends on how much you plan to cover as what you call floor pan? If you include the firewall and some of the rear under the seats it may take more than a quart. Get a quart and an extra pint to be on the safe side and not have an open can you don't get to use.

To seal a can of POR-15 you can use a store bag made of poly ethelyene[ethanol] and the lid will come off easily and the plastic bag will seal the can. You can tell the difference when you try to poke a hole in the bag with your finger, the right bag will be stronger and not stretch as easily. One bag is made from trees and the other is made from petroleum, that's the difference. Menard's is a typical place to have the right bag because they are cheaper and stronger and the bags are usually a cloudy kind of clear.

Make sure you do 2 heavy coats and don't go leaving and come back to decide when the 2nd coat is ready to be put on. It can take 2hrs or 12hrs for POR-15 to be ready for the 2nd coat and you have to be there to know. If you wait too long and it dries too much it will not work as well. I always liked using the black as the first coat and silver as the 2nd so you know where you have been and haven't been. You will use much more than 2 quarts to do the car so make sure you other parts prepped and ready to do so you can make the most of the can and your time. It is also reccomended to dust the surface of the 2nd coat with a spray can of paint or primer to make it so you can apply any other coating or materials to help it stick, I mean just a dusting.

If you get any on you you can get a callouse remover block at the grocery or drug store and it will get it off of your skin very easily. Unlike what others tell you it can be removed from your skin. I have told Restomotive of this many times but they like the selling point and the people saying it didn't come off for days from what I can tell. The blocks are usaually blue and yellow and look like lava rock on one side and smooth on the other and cost about $2.

Have fun

Hope this helps
