I stripped the entire floorpan of my 69 Camaro with a wire wheel/media blaster. The problem is the previous owner applied an excessive amount of seam sealer directly to specific areas of the floorpans then painted/undercoated over it. Now I am using a putty knife which is REAL fun and REAL slow to remove the seam sealer. Are there any special tools, solvents, strippers, etc. that are made to remove this stuff? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

since you are down to bare metal, have you tried a propane torch and a wire brush?

Just having gone through this myself, the propane torch and a scraper (putty knife)worked best for me.

wd40 worked well on mine, just let it sit. And also i used a wire brush wheel on my 4 1/2 grinder with a dusk mask and a fan venting the fumes away from me lol :rolleyes5
