Sold the 2005 2500HD Crew Cab because I wasn't getting enough use out of it to justify the payment so I'm looking for an older Chevrolet from about '65 to '72. Is ther anything in particular I should look for? I know on the 69-72 models they are notorius for rust on the rocker and cab supports but other than that I don't know much. I need to find one soon as we are down to one car now(other than the '69)

Let me know what you are looking to spend and I can see if there is anything for sale in that range, we have a ton of them out here with very little rust so I might be able to help you find something cool. I bought one a few years ago that just needed paint for about $5000K
Was fun to drive and didnt have to do much to it.
As for rust they rust out in the rockers, cab corners and floors inside by kicks bad. Other than that not much you can hide on them.
They are all over the place on price so give me a range and I will see if I can send you a few pics of some for sale. I see them all the time out here.

After looking on AutoTrader and AutoTraderClassics I have discovered that if you're looking for a cheap(inexspensive) vehicle, you need to talk to your buddy Craig. I found a bunch of older trucks in various states in the surrounding states. Here is my favorite so far:

Not bad for $3200 or best offer.

I also found a '72 C10 on Hemmings but when I called the guy for pictures, an older gentleman told me "Sure, what's you're mailing address?" Now I don't have much room to talk but he was located in Alabama.
Good luck. Good deals are out there, you just have to look for them. I spent over a year looking (I'm picky and cheap) for a '72 swb. Looked all over craigslist, ebay, and auto trader. Most were junk, others were asking too much. I ended up finding a super clean '72 swb stepside with less than 80k original miles just two streets over from my house. I only paid $2300 for it.
It's a sweet truck even with the original straight six and 3spd on the column. The guy I bought it from had bought it at an estate sale from the original owner a year earlier and parked it in his garage. He never drove it because he didn't trust himself with the column shifter and wanted to swap in a sbc and automatic but never got around to it.
