I thought I'd share some build photos of my new project I am are starting on it's a 1967 chevelle 300 deluxe that I bought back in high school (my first car) and about 8 yrs ago I gave it the pro street treatment. vortech blown 454 th-350 narrowed 9" parallel 4-link with air ride suspension 29/18.50/15 mickey thompsons. its been fun but completely impractical. 2 yrs ago I decided to lower the car even more. and then life has been busy 1 yr ago I started my own business L&H Kustoms and this year have been busy building up my business and the 1965 mustang fastback we had at SEMA https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47008 and now its time for my car https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/11/yesnod-1.gif as time permits between jobs (evenings & weekends) Here is the rendering of the car that I had done by Jason Rushforth. If anyone is looking to have a rendering done on their car I highly recommend jason as he does great artwork and has great design ideas and just a good ol down to earth car nut

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/11/mauchevelle-1.jpg
I am planning on using rushforth wildsides 20x12 rear and 19x8 fronts here's a shot of the wheels haven't decided on the finish yet though

ya that would have been fun but figured i can sell the m/t and wheels to help offset the costs. It is nice and dusty and that is one of the main reasons I am doing so is i'm tired of it being only a sunny day cruiser those m/t's are terrible in the rain

well had an opportunity last night to spend some time tearing the car apart stripped the firewall removed the dash, painless wiring harness, seat and the carpet. plans call for a completely smooth firewall so I have lots of holes to fill :)

The rendering looks very similar to the one that's on my '66. No biggy, it just caught my eye. There are more pictures of it in my Fquick garage.

cool that looks good just was wondering you dont see many chevelles with spoilers. mine is going to be similiar in shape but will extend all the way out to the edge of the 1/4's probably going to make it 3 piece but havent decided yet. thanks for the pic i was lloking at the pics of your 66 last night but didnt notice the spoiler.

Thanks! I thought about going out to the quarters like a Camaro spoiler but decided to keep it centered like Smokey's '66. The spoiler is now welded to the trunk lid because I didn't like the bolt on look. Did you see my front spoiler? (the pics are in the "updates" folder).

The front spoiler looks good. I am planning on molding my front air dam to the bumper and I am going to nickel plate all the stainless and bumper and brush them. I really am diggin the brushed look... done to much polished and chrome stuff time for something different :)
If you look closely at the rendering you'll notice that I am runnin brake ducts thru the front bumper slots where the turn signals used to be. and will have the turn signals (small led's) recessed in the ducts so there out of sight but still legal.

BTW those forgelines look good on your 66 good choice.

well I had the opportunity to finish stripping the body shell down and now its ready to go to the media blaster. Now I can start tearing the chassis apart and begin its transformation.

Anyone have suggestions on what style of rear suspension would be the best choice since the parallel 4 link isn't well suited for corner carving? I would like to hear some comments suggestions on what others are using.

I'd suggest either doing a 3 link, or contact Jakes Rod Shop, he may be able to put together a torque arm set up for your current frame.

Nice too see another Rare 67 300 deluxe. I owned mine 2X. I'm in Nor-cal and in 6 years have never seen another one in person. I rescued mine from a garage in SF, it had not ran or moved in 15 years. Only rust was hiding in the back window. I built mine to be a cruiser. It was completely original. Matching numbers 283 and powerslide. Of course I pumped it as far as possible with original 64cc heads and block. They did not make the original interior anymore, "thank God" so i went with malibu interior. And the radio delete plate is actually from a 66 Shhh!!! So I kept it mostly original and painted it the factory Metallic Mountain Green color. I just recently sold it again to finish a unfinished 69 ss camaro project. Here is a few pics of mine... Good Luck with Yours...:smoke:

Well finally got to work on my car today (needed the therapy) got the d/s floor pan fitted and got the braces cleaned up and coated with por15 and began fitting the DSE heater delete plate im going to be welding in on the firewall. I like the look of a clean smooth firewall but it needs some shape and not just flat IMO.

Coming along well.. Hope to have enough cash to buy some control arms and such this coming month. I really wanted to run your spindles but I believe I will will have to run a short spindle for the Kore3 short spindle brackets and my 17" wheel combo plus i plan to run GW drag upper arms and Gplus lowers. Congrats on the new addition to the family! Hey, I just noticed in your sig that you are a Global West dealer... How about a quote on TLC-42 uppers and CTA-42L lowers?

A little update.... Got boxing plates fab'd and welded in as well as my recycled crossmember. I also got my tubing bent for my 3 link upper bracket. Now I just need to trim it to fit.

Well a small update. I picked up (feel like I stole it) a barely used tko600 off of CL a few weeks ago and ordered up a quicktime bell and so I decided to pull my 6.0l off the crate and tear all the truck acc off and put on my used weiand intake on and set them up in the chassis for some motivation. I'm gonna try and spend a little time on it after I get back from sema. I am trying to finish up a 69 chevelle resto I have to have finished in 2 weeks to deliver back to the customer down in cali on my way to Vegas so I wont have much free time to spend on it until then but it sure is hard not work on it now that I am finally making some progress.

Had some down time today while waiting for parts for another project so I decided to spend a little time and narrow the rear frame rails 3" per side. I had to cut out my rear crossmember and 3 link upper mount so I will have to redo that as I did not originally intend on narrowing the rear frame. I also ordered the new RideTech single adjustable coilovers front & rear for the car and they should be here some time next week.

Hey Luke, before you cut out the crossmember and drive shaft loop to narrow the frame you had it positioned right in front of the lower control arm mount. Is there room for mufflers? I'm looking at doing the same thing so any idea would be great.

No there wouldnt be enough room to mount mufflers between the crossmember and rear diff depending on the length of muffler. Basically I had 23" and you need to take into account the radius of the bend for the exhaust to go over the rear axle.

Just a small update. had some time this morning to fab up some gussets and got them all tacked in place. Now I just need to cut out the flat plates to finish boxing in the gussets and then do all the final welding.
