Hello everyone,

I just heard about this forum from Scott: "Protour73" from over at NastyZ28.com. I have a '74 Type LT/Z28 on which we recently completed a complete resto-mod/pro-touring type project. I bought this car new in July of 1974 and after several years of enjoyment, put it in storage over 20 years ago, with intentions of a complete re-do. About 3 years ago, my friends urged me to finish the car and with their help, we completed the project last summer.

The 2nd Gen International Race of Champions race cars were a big influence on this project.

Here are some of the details:
Original L-82 350 engine with some mild mods
T-56 6-speed Transmission
Global West Upper and Lower Control Arms
Global West Subframr Connectore
QA-1 front coil-over front shocks
17" Team III "Minilite" wheels
BFG G-Force TA KDW tires
SSBC 4 wheel disc brakes
Pypes Exhaust
IROC front air dam
Vintage Air AC system (installed next spring)

Here are a couple of pics:

Thanks,

Welcome to the site, Doug. Your car fits in well here. I needed another big bumper on the site too. I've gotten lonely....

Doug, welcome. Michigan is well represented here. Good to see another mid-cyle 2nd gen gettin' some love. You're very close to Gingerman Raceway I see. You must come out to our Pro-Touring event there next year in June.

*edit* Oops nevemind, I see you've responded. See ya there.

CRead01: I only made it out to Dawg's one time last summer and I was in my 1996 SS that night. I spent most of the summer working on the '74 Z to get it done to the point it could be shown at the Berger Chevrolet - All Chevy Show in late August.

Trapin: Hearing about the event at Gingerman (over on NastyZ28.com) was what prompted me to sign up here. It's already on my schedule for next June! Sounds like a great event and I'm looking forward to being there.

Thanks for the welcome, Twenty !!!!!!

Hi Eagle,

I'm near Grand Rapids on the west side of the State, and the car was off the road for 22 years, so not too many people have seen it around ... lately, anyway! LOL

Thanks for the complment. Hopefully many more people will see the car around now that it's back on the road.
