The motor is a 2002 F-body LS1.
Looking at the motor from the front of the car there is a small diameter hose coming out of the (I Think) water pump below and to the passenger side of the throttle body.

Just wondering what it is supposed to be hooked up to??

THanks

Sounds like the steam vent line. It is supposed to return to the radiator at the highest point possible. There are some other ways to do it, try searching on ls1tech.com.

Not sure on that exact ls1 but the last one I owned had a hose that went to the throttle body. Something about freezing temp areas of the country and you could do a bypass if low temps would not cause you any problems

Thanks

It is the steam vent to keep steam from getting trapped in the heads. The purpose of the mod is to no longer have the line pass through the throttle body. It is used to warm up the throttle body in cold weather.

Dyno runs before and after the mod show between a 2 and 3 hp gain with the mod. By doing the mod you reduce your air temp entering the motor.
