>Hey guys. Long time lurker here. Awesome site !! Done some searching here, and think I have it down. Just need to make sure before I start cutting and welding.
> I want to lower and push an engine back. So how much is going to be determined once my height is found with the rims and tires I get. Between this site and googling I found I can lower the engine, and even tilt the drive shaft up, putting the engine weight even father down. Obviously one of the limits being the trans tunnel being hit by the drive shaft.
>So here's the question I guess. Does the overall drive line angle matter ? The car will have a torque arm. So if the pinion faces 2 down, and the tailshaft is 2 up, I should be fine if the two are parallel under load correct ? U-joints don't care WHAT direction there are actually bent right ? This will be raced a lot, but foremost a streetcar. NO VIBRATION allowed. :)
PS, biggest reason for an engine the tilts the tranny up is to ge the shifter back in a decent location.
ANY help is appreciated fellas
