My updates seem pretty miniscule compared to alot of the projects here, but my time space an budget constraints limit me to small stuff until I can blow the car apart and really go at it.
I get alot of satsifaction out of doing small stuff to keep my interest from fizzleing and it helps that I can drive the car to work if I want to. Even if my feet get soaking wet from my leaky windsheild when it rains.
I had to make me some cool fender braces.

Got some gauges and a Grant wheel. Redid the console with a satin textured black (instead of the faux woodgrain).

I did some paint work and traded labor for these 15" American Hopsters. The hoops polsihed up good but the centers had some tarnish so I painted them. I like think they look pretty cool painted.

I also scored a mint core support complete with all the hood latch hardware and bracketry today for next to nothing:firefire: .

Its nice to hear someone geting a deal instead of how high the price are. The braces look good , and I like the gauges you used. They look like they were made for this car. It looks like you did a god job on the wheels. Was it a lot of work making those mirrors fit the doors. I have a set to put on my Camaro. They look good.

Thanks man. The mirrors were real easy to put on, but I need to trim a bit off the bottom outside edge so they lean out some more. Right now they tuck a bit too close to the glass.
Two weeks ago I gave $50 for a used hood latch brace. I paid $40 for the core support, brace, lower hardware and one nice inner fender.

I like the braces! Good job. I've seen other builds with those guages (speedo and tach) and never really gave any thought. They look great. Are they a kit for that car or did you have to do some mods? Frank.

Thanks guys. The Autometer 5" gauges actually fit right in the factory bezel. Just had to shorten up the legs on the U brackets that bolt to the backside of them.

Love those fender braces! Did you fab the brackets?

Thanks. I made templates up out of carboard and had a machinist buddy bend them on his brake out of 1/8" steel, then I trimmed them to shape. He drilled and tapped the tubes LH and RH thread for me as well.
