Amazing! I was wondering if he could do a knife edge!

DayuM! He must be able to do one hell of a forward slip? At least he did right there on that! I thought for sure he was gonna bail?:worship:

It's Physics? Isn't it? Way overpowered so he was able to keep the nose up; With all the control surfaces he still had he was able to pull a forward slip and a very dramatic one at that. I am a pilot, I understand how it could be done.
A=x-tremely big Marbles
MCxMc+Y square root= Incredable situational awareness
He also really loved his plane, or he would have bailed+ Dude has an Extreme will to not die in a plane crash nor destroy his plane completely nor hurt anyone on the ground.

I think it is real and unreal at the same time. But it did happen, IMO

Heard about this a few days ago. It's possible to an extent but that video is fake. It even looks fake at the end when it's landing.

That's a CGI. If that type of aircraft has a wing seperation, it would most likely come apart altogether, not to mention that he would have lost most, if not all, of his controls.

Being a pilot, this was sent around to all my pilot buddies to geek out & criticize it.

Yep, it's fake. It's a "viral" ad for the company involved. Bad job of video editing if I do say so myself, plus the physics are all out of whack.

However, with an ample power to weight ratio it is possible... The 1-winged knife edge flight and landing has been done by large-scale R/C guys. Here are some videos of R/C guys losing wings in midair and knife-edging it all the way down until the last possible second.

And then there is the Israeli pilot who 1-winged in his F-15 after a midair collision... but with a decent portion of the lift coming from the midsection of an F-15 he managed to pull it off as long as he kept his speed up. Still an amazing feat.

I agree. I have a background in cg compositing and it is not real.

I´ve also watched it over and over.
I´m sure it´s a fake.
See how the camera follows the plane when landing.

This is obviously a fake... but I was watching a show on the military channel a year ago, and an Israeli pilot had one of his wings shot off. I believe it was an F-15. He was able to return to the base and land safely. The pilot didn't know he lost a wing until after he landed. He knew something was wrong but he compensated by increasing the power until he could maintain a level flight and return to base.
