that ducktail spoiler is exactly what the car needs!!

The wheels on the Dale Jr. model are awful. Having Dale Jr's name splattered on the car is a deal breaker for me. I do however like the decklid spoiler.

just change the wheels...LOL Not like it'd be stock for long anyways!

The Dale Jr front grille is much better than the stock grille. The stock grille looks to bulky and looks like it belongs on a truck

I like both grilles.

A few years ago I saw the new camaro close up at the F-body gathering In Atlanta...(Scott Settlemire was driving it around the lot... got some great pictures of that event and a few beers we had with him in the weee hours of the night great guy! btw )
But besides that the car did not move me as much as I thought.... I am a big f-body guy that has or had 4th and 2nd gen f-bodys)
Gm has been talking about this car for years... and just like many times before they have great concepts but never follow though with them and they always seemed to get watered down .. once it reaches the public or price them ridiculous like they did to the GTO ........

I'm a big F-body fan. I've had 2 first gens, one I bought 3 times. 2 third gens, and 1 fouth gen. I didn't like this new one when it first came out. Now, I'm tempted to go in debt and trade the Zo6 in on one. My Chevy salesman called me last week and said they have 10 allotments and I could order one if I wanted... It's soooo tempting...

Thats my biggest fear when these cars hit the showroom floors, that the stealership is going to mark them up some ridiculous amount

There are dealers taking orders today with fully-refundable deposits and contracts to sell the cars for MSRP, so I think with a little searching you will be able to find them for MSRP when they hit the lots. Of course there's going to be the jerkwad dealer up the road that wants a $5K "market adjustment" but there are others that will not.

I absolutely hate the interior. The rest of it is nice. I still would like to swap out the front fascia for a Horton-like one-off.

The dealerships that do that sort of thing are only as guilty as the guys with money to burn who basically outbid each other and drive the price up.The dealership isn't twisting anybodies arm to overpay , but some jerks out there just have to have the first one in their neighborhood , so they offer more and drive the price up.

Yeah, I think you're probably right. Not only that, but I'm curious to see what the second model year brings in terms of options, features, etc.

I highly doubt you'll see many (if any) dealerships mark this car up. Not in this economy. They want to move product and mark-ups in a stressed economy is not going to get it done. They may be greedy, but they're not stupid.
Case in point, they all said Challanger was going to get marked up and now many are sitting on dealership lots biding time.
Speaking of which, there is a red challenger sitting out front the dodge dealership here in town.
As for these cars, love the GS. LS7 is cool because it has the engine. It's boring beyond that. The Black Series is wow until you realize it's a V6. The Black Series is very reminiscent of the RS 4th gens to me. Great lines completely ruined by a pathetic engine. The Black Series should have a mean engine not some weak six

The six is rated at 300hp. is it not?
And what kind of power rating did the first LS1 Corvette have?
Having said that, I personally would prefer a 300hp. eight over a 300hp six. But that's just me.
As for supply, if there are buyers for them, GM will build them.
Some of the guys I've been working with in the truck plant have transfered over to the Camaro plant. Production starts this month (maybe this past Mon.). The Oshawa plants have always had a very aggressive ramp up schedule, so the plant will most likely be going close to full tilt in three to four months. If the sales are sustainable, they will start thinking about a second shift by next summer. One shift is capable of producing close to 100,000 units per year.

I have a good salesman, he always sells far below msrp. I don't know what he would sell it for, but I'm sure it would be no more than msrp. I didn't ask, because I know I can't afford it right now.

Yep , the prices will stabilize to a reasonable amount.
I remember when Miatas came out.
There were people paying almost double the sticker price to be the first.
Then , 6 months later , the dealers were selling them at sticker.

I would think so too but, its still not enough for me to go into debit for.

I like the JR model a lot, but the Black car is just mean! It reminds me of my Night Train- all black w/ minimal trim.
I think GM has a hit on their hands!
Oh yeah, anybody remember the sneak peak at GM where the guy was working on the exhaust tips-- notice anything??!!

The wheels on the Dale Jr. model are awful.
They are just as bad in person. I'm not diggin' the matching orange door panel insert color to match the interior. It looks king-cheesy.
The LS7 car is pretty nice.

That was my first impression as well. It's over done. They could have had twice the car with half the effort.

If 1 shift is set up to build 100k of these per year, we're looking at rebate city.
Ford's only selling 5k Mustangs a month right now, and Pontiac's only selling about 2k G8s, and the Camaro's basically a rebodied 2-door G8, with better styling and heritage.
We all know how musclecar fans feel about the Camaro, but to the average buyer, this is a nice-looking but large and not very convenient 2+2 with terrible blind spots that gets 27mpg highway made by a company that's in imminent danger of bankruptcy.
That said, a 300hp 6-speed V6 for $19.9k or less would be pretty tempting, and it's not like they haven't done $3k price cuts before.
Not selling the SS models in blue seems like a pretty big mistake though.

GM brass listened to the outcry from enthusiasts on forums like this regarding the lack of a blue-SS combo and has made the right decision, Aqua Blue and Imperial Blue will be available on the SS at launch. Order forms haven't been updated yet but will be soon.
