Just wondering who out there has done an LQ4 swap into their cars?
What modifications have you made to the engine in order to extract more HP and TQ?
Specifically who has kept the longblock stock? ie, have not taken the 317 heads off at all?
How much HP and TQ are you now making?
I will be swapping one of these motors into my 95 Mustang
2004 LQ4
LS6 intake manifold, stock throttle body (cable)
LPE Oil Pump
1 3/4 long tube headers, 2.5 inch exhaust with cats.
Manual transmission, with 3.27 rear gears....I will guess the car weighs around 3300lbs?
My dillemma is picking a good camshaft to work with the stock compression ratio and LS6 valve springs to keep the costs down, and valvetrain noise down!Nothing too radical sounding at idle would be beneficial, but I guess a good set of mufflers and some cats should absorb most of the sound....
I prefer an off the shelf grind that can be installed straight up. If I can make close to 400rwhp and TQ, it would be nice!
