Hello all. I am new to the site. Found it looking for ideas on what to do to a 67 Camaro. I have been racing asphalt round track for several years and decided to build a full tube chassis just like our Late Model cars and drop a 67 Camaro body on it. Sounds easy enough, but it obviously is not. I had NO IDEA about the P-T movement out there. I honestly thought I had a fairly "unique" idea - don't I feel dumb. Being in racing, I haven't paid much attention to street cars in many years.

I used to have beautifally restored 67 RS/SS Camaro. 396/325 HP with Muncie 4 speed, 12 bolt posi, deluxe interior, and console gages. I was the 2nd owner of 80k mile car. Sold it to fund racing. Talk about stupid.

I have just bought a bare shell 67 Camaro roller that will need all the usual stuff, but since I want to build a full fab chassis for it, I at least have a body skeleton to start with.

I also absolutely LOVE 94 to 96 Impala SS's. I am in the market for a 96 green one now. I bought a new 96 black when I graduated college and like dummy sold it too. PLans for the impala when I get it are to build a 6.0 iron block LS style truck engine (alrady have the motor) and implant it with a T56 and most likely a 9" or Dana 60. Won't go full bore PT with cage and all like the 67, but I hope to have around 500 rwhp with gobs of torque to move the 4300 lb mammoth.

Anyways, enough about me for now. I will be talking to you guys!!

Welcome. I completely understand the lust for the Super Sized car! National B-Body forum has great info. Might find a nice ride as well. Site is Impalassforum.com. Be advised the site has been up and down for the last few weeks, but it's where all the hard core guys lurk. LSx/T56 conversions. Guy in GA built 2000hp full weight car that ran 8.6 at 150.

PM if you have any ?s

Thanks Mark. I have been lurking a little on the Impalassforum some, but noted it was down all weekend. I was actually surprised how much the costs have gone down on these cars just on the last 6 to 8 months. Good for me since I am in the buying side, but not good for the guys selling, though.

Is that site the biggest site around? It looks to be based in Texas, but got the impression it was where most people were.
