Hi all,

This may be old news to some... but maybe someone hasn't heard of it.

Just wanted to say that I was over at the Barnes and Noble today and found what looks like a great book! It is called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell and looks very informative for anyone looking to do a turbocharged application. ISBN is 0-8376-0160-6

If any of you guys who have built turbo engines have any opinions on the book, I'd love to hear them. I hope to do a TT small block build someday and would like to know that I'm getting good info. Jody, I noticed in your Ron Davis intercooler post that you mentioned Corky Bell as having giving the thumbs-up to the intercooler.

Cheers.

It's 1 of the 2 books that are required reading if wanting to build a turbo setup. I have read thru it around 12 times.

Yup,
Corky Bell is one of the original gurus of turbocharging. My dad has an '84 Datsun 280ZX that he had Corky Bell build for him. He built the motor, put a huge intercooler and turbo on it, adjustable boost control, Haltech laptop programmable efi, the works. All of this in the late eighties. He picked off his fair share of Corvettes with that "poor man's sportscar."

CB is quite an interesting (educational) man in person- In 2001, I had the opportunity to talk with him over the course of a few days (at his old shop in San Antonio). During the 80s, I did my engineering intern at Turbo Engineering, where we were installing a few of his BMW kits. My boss's 5-series made 510 rwhp with one of Corky's setups.

Impressive guy- His Supercharged! should be required reading, too.
