i want to run a 305/45-18 nitto drag radial on the rear of my car, it is a 79 malibu. do you guys think i should run 18x9.5 or 18x11 wheels? the wheels that i want to run are a custom order piece from budnik in the 18x11. as always custom = big $$$$$.do you think the 18x9.5's will not be wide enough?

thanks
kevin

On Nitto's website under specs the reccommended wheel width range is 9.5 - 11 so the 9.5 wheel would work according to them. The question is do you want the tire to look wider and is it worth the added expense? You have to decide if you think it's worth it. Good Luck - Jack

Do you have the room to run a 11" wheel & 305 tire on a 79 Malibu?

i will after the cutting, grinding and welding that typically happens with a mini-tub job.
that tire is the equivalent to a 29x12.5 slick from what i calculate.
