Another cool build by killer customs! i loved that 69 you guys did! There's a couple of things that caught my eye on this build but i'm just looking at the pictures here and i'm sure things will be changed around before I get to look at it at SEMA this week.
- The gold on the wheels doesn't seem to match the gold on the car.
- Wheels sit WAY too far in...it either needs 2" spacers all around or wider wheels (for a car with this much power i'm surprised you guys didn't go with wider wheels/tires?).
- The giant shaker just looks kinda silly and does not flow with the cars body lines or shape well at all.
- The lack of the bird on the hood...well...can't really call it a bandit in my opinion without the firechicken! hahah
- The wire used on the grill and the side vents looks very...out of place on a build of this type...i prefer the honeycomb style mesh they used on the yearone cars and that sort of keeps to the theme a little better
- The detail work on the interior has a few little tid bits that need a little attention....waves in the door panels...waves on the dash pad...center console fitment is kinda off...visible rivets on center console. The gauges are really nice though. What's the hockey puck looking thing at the base of the steering column?
- The seats are very family sedan looking and in my opinion wouldn't provide the type of support and style a car of this caliber should have.
overall though the car will definitely turn some heads when ripping around!

i guess it just needs spacers then to push them out about 2 inches
i've been on the forums for years...i don't post much but this one caught my eye because i love bandits

i was interested in see this car this weekend due to all the nay sayers... and i can say this cars built quality is bar none... the int works is top notch and the waves everone speaks of are NOT present... also the IS a bird on the hood, a very bad azz one at that. those couple of pics dont show all the quality/custom work actually done on this car. its really to bad for all those who jsut assume what this car is... its only hurting you. i do agree the front wheels need to be out a bit but the rears are fine and very snug where they are now.

Ok guys. Cool it on the personal attacks.
Hello,
I have been watching this thread for a few days and have too say it's not right to tarnish this particular build or builder with comments and feelings found in another thread not even related to this car. We all need to remember that there are three sides to every story and none of those issues belong in this thread. I saw the build photos of this T/A and it looks phenominal. I am hoping to build my own version of a "Bandit" this winter.

I don't understand why people are getting so worked up about an opinion?, the builder posted pictures to show of a project. Most people on here and other boards like it, but it seems that if someone posts something that they don't like, their character gets attacked???
I think there is a similar post on lateral-g and someone (not me) posted about something they didn't like about what they saw in the pictures and it was deleted.
I really think you guys have to take a step back and realise that not everyone will like what you build, and some have higher standards of work which is not always met.
Damn True
11-03-2008, 02:44 PM
It's one thing to post an opinion on a build. It's another thing entirely to call into question the integrity of the builder or the validity of someones opinions.
The former is encouraged. The latter two will not be tolerated.
Ive deleted the attacks and inflammatory material.

Constructive criticism is not appreciated at all apparently. I'm not bashing the build at all. I love bandits and trans ams in general and just wanted to point out a few things with a little bit of attention would make it a better car.

you never know what the owner likes or wants or for that matter the builder, if we all liked the same exact thing we would all be after the same woman!!!! comments are fine but just because you dont like something doesnt make it wrong.

"Better car." Maybe in your opinion, obviously not in the builders opinion.
Thing is, the builder/poster never asked for anyones thoughts, opinions or "Constructive Criticism."
Quite frankly, I doubt he really cares what anyone else thinks of the build style. The car was built from the ground up, no compromises on what style the owner, builder, designer wanted to do.
I wonder if some are timid on posting pictures of their builds in fear of unwanted "costructive criticisms".

11-04-2008, 01:52 PM
I'm not sure why the builder would have even made the post if he was not looking for input from other people? If you think people who post pics on here are not looking for opinions or advice, give your head a shake, the builders want to know if others are impressed with their work and get publicity out of it. IMO there are some issues that have already been posted about that I don't like, but if the customer asked for it, you have to build it that way.
I always liked the bandit car, I watched those movies growing up. I would have gone a more subtle route on the build like the year one cars if I had it built.

Publicity, absolutly. Input on what to change from others, I seriously doubt it. If they would of wanted opinions on how to build the car, I'm thinking they would of done that before the car was completed. :Alchy:

The hood scoop was made not for airflow, but engine clearance. I bet that big block sticks right thru the hood without it.
I love it. The tucked in tires, too. Not every car has to have tires that stick out to the edge. OR Maybe they're holding out on those new nitto 385s?
I'm giving my painter a copy of this car!

Yes the hood scoop was constructed to fit a 14x3" k&n air cleaner, we had to heavly modify the throttle body to make everything fit, we tried to copy the original shape as much as possible and keep it as small as possible for everything to work.
Nitto 385???? now theres an idea, if you like big tires? its funny how the 345 that are on it now don't look too big??? go figure, the car is quite big
Blake, can you guys get us better picture of the suspension, tires, rear shots, you know the works? I'd love to see some better details on this car. I understand if you can't release them yet but would appreciate it if you could.
