The answer is to get the best and do it right....

Well thats not in the budget and I need to get this thing painted (thing = 67 firebird). I have about $600 allocated for paint materials and I'd like to go with SPI clear which is going to eat up close to $200, and base will be probably another $200.

That leaves me $200 for primers.

Should i go with something like Kirker epoxy and urethane primer so i can block sand and do the proper steps? Or should I go with something like SPI epoxy then skim out any waves with filler/glaze and seal with some thinned out epoxy, if that can be done, wet sand with 400-600 and topcoat.

This is a terrible question but I'm super tight on cash... OR where else should I cut?? A better budget base coat?

Thoughts?? I know this isnt a show car, its a driver, and it wont get paint if I cant afford it so I am OK with compramising somewhere.
