dont do it.. save up 15,000 dollars and buy a camaro then save another 14,000 and buy an ls7.. then save another 6000 and buy a aftermarket subbframe.. then save another 5000 and buy some high dollar wheels.. then save another 2000 and buy some big brakes... then save another 30,000 and disassemble the damn thing and paint it..

then look back at this post about a car for 1500 bucks and say..

I think you should get it if it's pretty solid. 1500 is a good buy, it's a great car to learn on,...it's big enough for the crew and if you ever feel like popping in a small or big block motor, it shouldn't be too hard.

Oh, and they're cool cars to boot.

if it's a 2 door go for it. I bought my camaro when I was 14. Every paycheck I got when I started working went back to my parents who fronted the money...

If it's a 2-door and complete, it sounds like a great buy. Unfortunately, there's not much aftermarket support for those cars, in both performance parts and restoration parts, so you have to figure that in on what your goals and intentions for it are.

Looks like a good buy. Don't let it get away. Here's a nice example of a 66 biscyne that Troy did. Very nice even.

If the car hasn't been damaged and doesn't have cancer, it sounds like a good buy to me. I paid a lot more than that for a good '61 Bel Air post sedan. These cars seem to be becoming more popular, god luck.

If I were you I'd wait. Work and get money first then when you have more money down the line buy the car. I bought my camaro at 16 for 2500 bucks. Every pay check I made for like a year went into it...still not done. The problem is not having all the money up front and the build taking forever. Make money first and when you have more upfront will make the build go way better.

Once I get my camaro running its going on craigslist so I can bank that money and build another car in about a year or two but with a way better plan.

if it's your ideal starting point then i say buy it! but seriously think about if thats the car you really want to be building! otherwise you'll end up getting fed up and bored with it within a few months, and just end up wasting money.

for what its worth, i think those are really cool cars.

If you do go ahead and buy it....DONT TOUCH A THING until you have the money to do changes all at once. Since it is running....

Save up money for suspension and knock that out over a weekend.

Save up for brakes......knock that out in a different weekend...etc.

Having all your money in a car that can't move without being pushed at our age really bites...TRUST ME. My dad tried telling me this 2 years ago and being a know it all kid....i didnt listen and bought a 2k dollar piece of shell...

Goodluck. Just trying to help you out so you dont make the same mistakes I did.
