Excuse my ignorance, what is the difference between the normal HID kits and the projector style?

I'm looking for replacement headlights on my 69 Camaro, trying to figure out my options.

Thanks!

[EDIT] Specifically if the lens, reflector, and bulb are all tuned/made for HID.

looks like a nice product. i too would like to know the difference between normal and projector HIDs.

any idea of the 5.75 inchers fit a first gen firebird?

The difference between projector and traditional reflector optics is just that, the reflector becomes basically the housing and a projector style low (or Bi-Xenon style) is grafted in it's place. Projectors are a bit more efficient but they cost quite a bit more especially when you look at brand new OE units (not removed from a lamp).

Your Firebird should use a four lamp setup with a single 5-3/4 low and single 5-3/4" high.

We have these kits available in either low beam (just replace the low beam units) or complete 4 headlamp units (replace all four lows and highs). these are available in standard halogen, high powered halogen (90-130 watts with wiring harness) or HID low beam with halogen high beams.

Are there DOT or E marks in the lenses?

I am sorry I have not replied to this sooner. I have been working on some of the optic product issues.

I expect to have a pre-production set available for pics in three weeks. This will include a true bi-xenon HID system with integrated Devil EyeSS Halo System.

As soon as that comes out I'm in. If I could get the same "type" of set up my BMW has on my Camaro I'd be stoked!

I like those. What about high beams though? Anyone have any opinions on the quality of these?

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/05/yhst26023507845683_2053_47343904-1.jpgThese are not real projectors as far as I know. I've seen these cheap "projector" style headlights on ebay and wanted to wait for something well engineered to put on my car. I have a set of BMW projectors that I am considering trying to retrofit into a 7" headlight. That would be the way to go. Also, Steve @ Twist Machine was working on a nice light setup (although not really geared towards running HIDs), but am not sure if he is still planning on selling them.

Don't see any Projector conversion setups, but they still have a lot of HID conversion stuff.

Seems like a tough business plan. HID's are cool but I don't know if enough people want to buy conversions to stay in business.
