I was wondering where you get materials for a diy cold air intake. I hear people say just go to plumbing section, but I was wondering how all that stuff stands up with heat. I have headers and they will get pretty hot under the hood. I don't want plumbing plastic to crack and fall into my intake. Let me know what you have used. silicone hoses with exhaust pipe material?

Go to an exhaust shop and get some diesel exhaust piping. Fab it, weld it, smooth it, and then take it to the ceramic coater of your choice. Rubber sleves for Turbo diesel applications are easy to get at the appropiate shops.

I bought some 3.5" dia aluminum 45 degree elbows off of ebay & had them welded together. It is polished & looks pretty sharp. I don't have any pics at the moment, I'll get some up soon for ya. Check ebay auction 360096607353
