Hi Gang: I'm working on the fuel system for my 1934 Ford coupe - will have a blown 392 Hemi in it, 800-900 HP on gas. Anyway, this is a street/strip car and since I'm building the whole frame and suspension package, was wondering what you all recommend for fuel lines.

I'd really like to conceal the lines inside the frame - have about 1.25 inches in the frame channel. I'm not too keen on aluminum fuel line - and also don't want to run braided from the tank. Anybody ever use stainless tubing - with a tubing bender to fit it as needed? I'd like to setup the frame with areas to mount the fuel lines and grommets to protect them. I'll need at least a 1/2 line (maybe 5/8) and a 1/2 return line to the tank. Any vendors that sell the bulk line, mounting blocks, grommets, etc??

Thanks! Dale

You can use stainless tubing. This company does work for Nelson Racing engines, http://bentcustomandperformance.com/index.html I am not sure if they are sponsor here, but he posts over on Lateral-G.net. Hiding tubing in your frame is not recommended due to chassis flex. Here is a post discussing that topic. http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=14895&highlight=stainless+tubing

For something like your project you probably need to get a roll of 20-25' of stainless annealed seamless tubing in the size you want and a bender and start going at it.

I bought a pair of pre-bent stainless 1/2 lines from The Right Stuff Detailing:
http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com/parts_catalog.htm

But that was for 69 Camaro, but you could ask them.

Inside the frame is real nice looking I love SS line . I am not sure but if you plan on running you car @ the track you shoud check into the rules regaring it being inside the rail

I had some stuff done at Bent awhile back.

He is a really nice guy, and does great work. Not cheap, but good.

Are you saying that there are rules against running lines inside the frame? My idea is to create solid line-blocks with grommets to tie everything down. I'm not going to just try to route the dang lines inside an already built frame - but design the frame to handle the lines. If everything is designed from the get-go for hard lines and correct mounting, I don't think there should be any safety issue.

Is there something I'm missing?
