Maybe I posted this in the wrong section as I got no responses, so here it goes here. Somebody has to of done this?
This subject may have already been answered but I could not find the info I needed through search. There is a bunch on the ls2,ls3, ls7. I have a 2001 corvette ls1 without the harness or ecm. What is the best way to go for the harness, ecm, and can I make the DBW work? It seems most you guys use speartech, but I have not seen a DBW on an LS1. Any help would be great.
I do have the 2001 corvette engine with the drive by wire throttle body.
Thanks for your help!

Hello LS1 Nova,
We have done plenty of ls1 with DBW thorttle bodies before. What type of transmission do you plan on running behind the engine? Give us a call at 770-416-7649, ask for John and tell him that Tommy from Pro-touring told you to call. We can help with the harness, ecm, ecm programming, dbw gas pedal and module... everything to help turn your ls1 into a Turnkey setup.

The guys at SPS can supply everything for sure. If you decide to do this on your own, I find it is best to keep all the parts compatible.ean if you have a 2001 Vette TB, it would be best to use a 2001-2004 ECM, pedal assembly and harness. I have found that mixing parts from different cars can cause many headaches. On top if the compatible parts it also takes a proper ECM program.
Hope this helps

Any chance you can explain whats involved in installing your system. Do you use a oem style ecm? Is the ECM programmable? Is your harness easily adaptable to the stock wiring? Any pics of the system? Is the gas pedal a stock unit or is fab required? Aprox. cost? Just a few of my questions. If these questions are too involved let me know. Just fiqured I am not the only one with these questions? BTW I will be running the TKO 600 with the "lower(numericaly) OD .53 I think?", I also have a 3:70 9" diff. Thank you very much for your help!

The LS1 Corvette engine does come with a DBW and works very well when set up correctly. The LS1 engines uses the 24X reluctor wheel on the crank and there for will require an ECM #12200411 or #12586242, depending on how the harness is set up. These are factory ECMs that have been reprogrammed and they do a great job. If using DBW throtle body you will need a electronic pedal (again factory) and TAC module (again factory) that will manage the throttle body. We encourage and do use factory componets when ever possible. They work!!!! The harness that we offer does not intergrate with the body harness nor does it need too. It is a stand a lone engine-transmisson harness that is managed by the ECM. The ECM would have to be reprogrammed using your gear ratio and tire size or diameter. If you have other than a stock LS1 we would need to know a little more info. If you have the MAF meter, you probably have the aluminum 78mm using 3 pins. This is the one that is used with our harness and is stock for that year. If you do not have and want to you can use the 90mm plastic one that comes on the '05 and later engines. We have a jumper harness that will allow to run this MAF meter. Hope I have covered all your questions. Got any more, you know where to find us. Thanks for your interest.
