This video is pretty cool, it shows the CNC process used to make the new laptop from Apple. Not much different from the stuff in the hot rod world. Of course, they go on about it like they invented it, but we know better...

Pretty hot looking bit of tech -- hoping to score one tomorrow.

My old Macbook is up for replacement in a few months. I was leaning towards the Pro, but I'll have to give this one a look. Especially since the Graphics card has been bumped in scale by a fair margin.
IMO that's where the last Macbooks were lacking.

Thanks for sharing... yeah, Apple does make it sound like they invented this. But it is a cool video!

X2, is Mac really that different than PC?? I do have to admit that I like it but not the price!! My $500 Dell works pretty good......

I work IT and deal with Windows and Linux on a daily basis. I have to say it's a pleasure to work on my Macs when I get home. They are by far worth the price difference. Also keep in mind that a similarly configured windows machine is almost the same price.
Just like anything, it's a tool. Some people will tell you that one is explicitly better than the other. That's false. There are somethings that I can do on a mac, that will take 3x as long on a PC. The converse is alternately true as well.

LOL. The Mac OS is more graphically intuitive, which is good for us artsy fartsy types and people who learn from diagrams instead of manuals.

Actually you can. It's not legal, not the easiest to install, and updates are a little bit of a pain... but it is possible. :naughty:
I built a Hackintosh before taking the plunge and purchasing a mac.

Looking at a new macbook on my desk right now -- it's a gorgeous tool, a work of art, and the perfect size for the traveling photographer.

I have 4 mac and hate to think about the $$$ tied up in these things but that is how I make a living. I have a couple of top of the line 8 processor macs to do the renderings with these bad boys know how to work!!!!! I do run Windows in Parallels and it very nice if I have to do some PC coding and testing. Dont have a macbook yet but who knows?
