After the tragic loss of my brother Jim last week in a motorcycle crash, i took over his 70 chevelle ss396 to build in his memory.Jim always wanted to get back to this car one of many he had 20-30 or so and would never sell it.Now im in the middle of rebuilding my 73 Ls1 vette so decided to sell it to my uncle .So i can spend every amount of time and money i got into it to get the chevelle done for Jim.Itll be a mix of protouring and original together.I think thats what he wanted for it.The car comes with a ton of new parts already put away and all work can and will be done by me so cost wise wont kill me.Already have new doors so quarters, entire trunk has to be replaced trunk lid, rear valance etc... will get replaced.Looks worse in pictures, everything from quarters forward is solid floors are perfect and frame was already detailed and suspension was detailed so it stayed in good shape.Motor was rebuilt but ill be rebuilding it anyway.

So sorry to hear about your brother. 70 Chevelles are cool and under done Pro Touring. I always look around for projects with special stories we can help with. I think this car hobby is sometimes as much about the story then the car itself. I keep my eye out for these special meaning projects, this would surely qualify. If you need anything from us parts wise let me know and I will hook you up with some additional discount to get you closer to your new dream.

Sorry about your loss. I'm actually trying to do kinda the same thing. I'm trying to find my bro's old 78 Camaro to restore for my pop's as a gift. It was 10 years ago he was taken from us. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

well i decided to try the rims and tires from my corvette since i wasnt letting them go with the corvette anyway and they fit perfect to me.When done itll have to be lowered of course im thinking 1 inch infront and 1 1/2 to 2 inchs in rear.
The rims are 17x9.5 with 4 .25 bs and a 275/50/17 nitto nt 450 tire fronts are 17x8 4 inch bs with 255/50/17.At least now it rolls.Today ill start strippig it down to metal and see exactly what i got to order as far as sheetmetal and ill order that this week.

If you plan to run a lowered stance those wheels might not work out. Based on what you said the specs are, they'll stick out too much and run into the outer fender lip. Best to double check them with the car at the desired ride height though.

Project Heaven Sent
Made a little progress only have an hour here and there to work on it,wifes been working long days and i have to watch my son till shes home so i make the best out of my time and as you can see my space too.Not bad for 24x24 garage a 70 chevelle frame the 70 body in the middle and the 73 corvette chassis on the other side.Raining to hard to move anything outside tonight bodys going in 10x20 tent for now and the parts are going in the shed so ill have room to start on the chevelle chassis this weekend.
