Paint? A day.
Prepping for paint? As long as it takes....

By that I would assume some one has quoted you a turn around.
Like anything else, it will end up being how much $$$ you want to spend, and what kind of end result you are expecting. :here!:

It took a professional body shop a year and a half to get mine out of "paint prison." I was told 2 weeks max. That being said
8 Hour work day times 5 is 40 hours.
Add another week on top of that you have 80 hours.
I never bothered to figgure out how much a year and a half would be. LOL..
Again, as George said, its not in Painting or spraying the car itself as that alone can be done in a day. Its all the prep work to get the car ready that takes all the man hours and $$$$...
Least we are talking about Maaco or something similar. Those guys usually even take 2-3 days time turn around in and out. Keep in mind that new metal has to be prepped and body work done prior to painting.
If your like me and are trying to do this stuff yourself for the first time, I too am starting out with all new sheet metal.
Just doing the work myself I started in what?? May guys?

Its hard to give an estimate for something like that. As stated prior, what kind of end result are you looking for. We have people come in the shop asking for an estimate and when we tell them we're upwards of $15k, they tell us were crazy. Do you want straight gaps, mirror finish on the paint, straight car. Gotta be more specific.

The nicer you want the more you spend give details please. I could spray your car for say a grand.That means no prep or body work all I do is supply my time and guns. You supply all materials and have it prepped minus the masking and wiping down/tacking off.
