The c-clip eliminators and the LS1 brackets are competing for the same real estate, which is why we typcially would recommend welding on new housing ends rather than using "bolt-on" eliminator kits. Ironically, it doens't usually work out to be that much more expensive and you end up with a more reliable, cleaner installation without the associated brake headaches.

The LS1 rears are designed to work with a brake offset dimension of 2.77" from the outside of the housing (or the c-clip eliminator in your case) to the outside of the axle flange. Most positively retained bearings setups using LS1 brakes use the LS1 backing plate as the bearing retainer...that's not usually an option with an eliminator kit.

Who's eliminator kit are you using? Have you contacted them? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but hopefully somebody who's been in your shoes chimes in with their experiences.

Im using moser 1 piece eliminators. My rearend guy also runs the local machine shop so he just worked a little mojo and we are almost finished. Would 9" ends have been the easiest/best route to take? I tried to research before I bought but came up empty. I guess there really isn't a stupid question.

I spoke with Baer and ford ends would of been a better option. Baer mentioned I need to maintatin the standard GM offset of 2.75" instead of the standard ford 2.50" offset in my case since I already had the brakes setup for an F-body. They said there were a lot more options for the ford ends. When I have my rear end narrowed I am "eliminating" the Moser c-clip eliminators that are on there now.
