I need more help guys. I need to give my paint shop a Silver to paint my car in. What silvers are out there that you guys think would look good on my Mustang? I like the Foose silver but don't know the paint code. I want something a little different but not to crazy. This is a rendering that Kris is in the process of doing for me. Let me know what you think will look good on the car. Thanks Derrick.

Looking great! I think I would go a little darker to stand out from all the other cars that are being done Silver now. A nice medium silver, with a lighter stripe. I like the combo on Datsbad's fastback which is a lot like what Ford has done on their Concept Cobra, GT-40, and the new Mustang.

Are you looking for a bright silver? If so, check out some of the OEM colors. My wife's '03 Jeep Liberty is a very nice bright silver.

I like the lighter and brighter silvers. I am affraid to go with the darker gray on the car because of all the Eleanor cars out there. I do like the Jeep silver, I think it's the same as the Chrysler silver that I have a sample of. Let me know if you guys can come up with any other options.

Lexus has a silver I believe the paint code is 1-c-0, looks real good in the sun. Chrysler has a metallic called peppercorn or something similar it looks good also.

Ford Silverfrost from late '90's Contours etc.. Nice small metalic flecks to it make it easier to spray and it looks really, really good when done on hotrods/streetmachines/etc. I plan on that color for my repaint on my bird instead of the stock silver colors. Plus it's a Ford color, so your 'stang won't explode by putting another make's paint code on it! My Pontiac might have problems though...:seizure:

My 67' Nova was painted a nice Lexus Silver Pearl before I stripped it down for the rebuild. I believe it was a factory offering around 2001-2002.

Alson House of Kolors Fine Met Silver Pearl is pretty sweet!

I'm leaning toward GM Galaxy Silver or the silver on the newer Infinaty's

If you look in the OEM colors for Aston Martin they have several nice silvers even one that looks like aluminum. I almost painted the Vette silver!

i have been looking at silver for my chevelle and actually had some made, it's really bright, and has a nice big flake so it doesn't look like all the other silver cars on the road today. just go to your local PPG shop, the color is called "silver star" from the vibrance collection, the code is 908418, i think you will really like it.

That Sterling type silver is what I want to use on mine (I like the fact that it's kind of a more platinum look... kinda like some of the Jeep Grand Cherokee's had in '97 and '98)

If you like a nice medium flake silver try Dodge Viper silver.

How about DuPont's Mercedes Brilliant Silver. Looks different than the actual cars paint! Has a fine aluminum flake to it. In bright lighting the highlighted areas look almost white. I have seen it on a few cobras that looked killer. Here's one that my painter did. It is actually a Nissan color but it looks very similar.

Before I became an insurance adjuster, I was an automotive painter. I've painted alot of silvers in my time. BMW Titan Silver was always my favorite. Very clean looking. Flakes are just the right size, and it always seemed to need the least "dusting" (the technique used to blend all the metallic to a uniform density.)

Hi,

I know this is an old post... BUT...

I love the color on this cobra...

I can find House of Kolor Orion Silver and House of Kolor Platinum ...

Is this color a custom blend or am I missing something...
