Always like the Turbo cars.

I also have a 86 GN so I know how well turbos work.

But I've always like cars that are different,So I built a 82 Buick Regal with a Buick 455 in it.

It has a 200R4 trans, 8.5 GN rearend with posi 3.42, headers duals with 44 Flowmasters
Eldelbrock dual plane intake, and a 860 cfm Q-jet.

Anyhow as a member of v8buick.com web board, I ran accross this thread and I went hmmmmmmm, a twin turbo set up for a Buick 455!!!!

So with that thread read what cha think?

From reading thru another forum it was recomended that both tubes to the hat merge together before the hat , so a new hat maybe needed?
What kinda of carb for blow thru?
Cam recomendations...a couple have ran a 212 Buick cam, kinda entry level.
Will my stock 71 455 pistons hold up?

If you've never done a turbo before, please go EFI. It's much easier to tune and is more reliable.

That being said, I wouldn't go with more than 8 psi without better pistons (thick deck to deal with heat, ceramic coated tops, graphite coated skirts, rings moved down away from the heat, full floating pins, etc.) and doing the math to figure out how much compression vs. how much boost to run. Then the dish depth could be determined.

So, you can do it with low boost on a mild engine until something pops (and eventually, something will) or you can design it to deal with boost from the bottom up and really take advantage of it, but it'll cost a bunch more. Also, with a slew of boost-urged power, you'll have to upgrade the trans and rear suspension to deal with it. If you don't, they'll break at the least-convenient time.

I think it rocks either way - I love the B/O/P stuff!
