I have a 1972 Olds 442 and am redoing the brake system. Anybody have any pics as to where and how they mounted the prop valve?

easy place for you is to mount it right off the master or if you dont want to see it go just under the firewall and mount it in line on the way to the rear. We do most of them in that area as you cant see them.

are you talking about the stock prop valve? If so it goes on the inside of the frame rail, almost directly below the master cylinder/booster. There should be holes in the frame for it already, just play around with the valve and you'll see how it lines up.

No, its a Wilwood..I think I'm going to mount it where the stock dist block was unless anyone sees there being a problem there...I ran a new brake line from the rear and its not long enough to go much past that area and I dont want to use a coupling to make it longer. I guess I can just mount it in that stock location and then run a new line from the master cylinder to the Wilwood prop valve. I was just wondering how everyone else did theirs.

I put mine in the line going to rear about under the drivers footwell. It is mounted to the frame with a simple bracket. I had to move the distribution block and the prop valve to clear the headers.

On my 66 I made a bracket that bolts to the frame where the origianal shift linkage braket went

I have plenty of manifold clearance. When I put a 455 with headers on later I will move it if I need to.
