LOL yes it is I wanted to do a sheetmetal vent but did not have time. So I airbrushed it on. many people dont notice it good Eye. I built that car in 5 weeks. and sold it befor I finished to a local guy. He is finishing it himself to save some money.

Those are some killer cars. Where is Flanagan IL. ? What was done to the grill on the silver 67? Did you add lights? It is hard to see from the angle of the pic. Thanks Eric

Flanagan is 2 hrs south of Chicago in central IL. We have been in business for 20 yrs. Thanks for the compliments.
the silver one has a set of intake vents mounted in the grill that y together and ram air into the carb.
we also smoothed the lower valance and added a set of runing lights.

I'm glad to see you kept the body lines and tail lights from the '67. I don't feel the '69 influence from the rendering would translate well in real life.

Out of curiosity, how were you planning on attaining this look? '69 quarters and tail panel with modified '67 front fenders?

Looks really nice. Did you run 68 doors on this project? Just wondering how you removed the vent windows.

Damn True
10-10-2008, 02:27 PM
So the fender vents on the "Pace Maker" car are just cosmetic as well?

customshop
10-10-2008, 06:45 PM
I was thinking of running the 69 tail lights as I like ther looks of them. I was going to wled in the center of a new tail pan. after getting all of the other work done insall the new qtrs and 67 tail pan decided I did not want to add a bunch more work. So we stayed witht the 67.
The chrome vents in the fender are Cad. cts and are really molded into the fender.

I do still have the 67 doors with the vent windows.

hope this clears up you ? thanks

Haw man... I feel lied to! I was digging that. I've been trying to figure out how to integrate the early 70's TA vent into the fender of my 67 Camaro and have it look good for forever... then I saw that... oh the let down! LOL

So, did you end up putting those vents on the current project, or no? It doesn't look like they're there in the paint booth shots. Also, what color is the top half of that car?

I'm digg'n it. Keep up the posts.

Dan

Molded in?

Are they functional or cosmetic?

I did use a 3/8" think billet chromed vetn and mounted it on the body . then added metal around it so it is formed into the body work but it is only 3/8" deep. It is there in the booth pics but hard to see in the bright white color.
The paint is Hot Hues by Dupont and it is Performance white bottom and Platnuim siler top
it is a fine silver pearl color. I was looking for a aluminum kind of color. It should have a good pop in the sun. I will get some up close shots of the vent tomorrow and post them. thanks J

Open a photobucket account, it is free & from it you can post pics full size instead of thumbnails. You simply put https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif after it.

Example of one of mine in photobucket: http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff65/samckitt/monte_bridge1.jpg

That car is awesome!

Quick question (And I mean no offense by this) but are those vents from a Cadillac? They sure kinda look like it.

If so, great idea! If not, where'd you get them?

Hmm, maybe they're not! But the Caddy ones are nice.

10-19-2008, 04:40 PM
I think it's stock glass, but they spent some time shrinking the window openings. John?

customshop
10-19-2008, 06:48 PM
yes this is stock glass we just pinched the Opening in when we did the rest of the body work. I primer blacked the back of the glass so it would have a black trimmed edge. then used the urethane glue to glue it in. I used the original glass and did all of the body work to it then test fitted the new glass Just to make sure. it worked out well I like the newer updated look. :headbang:
