you might want to read this (http://spda-online.ca/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4306&forum=10)

Apparently somebody went to the trouble of contacting Toyo's engineering dep't for help in getting these tires to work as well as was felt they should. And I think it's a bit more competition-specialized than the run of the mill discussions over in the wheel/tire forum.

Wow.. great info.. especially in regards to the tech piece on slip-angle and the hints on how to correct understeer and oversteer. Also, it sounds like the R888s don't like to be "pinched" in by a narrow wheel and instead like to be "spread" a bit. Since I'm ordering new Forgelines today this info will come in handy.
Thanks!
BTW.. I love my R888s.. great tire that I feel has really improved the performance of my car.

like steve said, the r888s are hands down well worth the money to replace every two years, the overall performance of corner stability, traction and braking traction is worth the longevity, plus who wants old hard tires on there car that the brakes over power instantly?

Your tires last 2 years? I wish. On my 2nd set of Falken 615's and MT ET Streets. And my car was only on the road for 5 months this year!

most guys only drive there cars 5-7 months of the year, and only 3-5k miles a year at most, now maybe you drive your car more but either way, whether you buy 300 tread wear tires or 100, the 100s last long enough to warrant there use.
i would check into alignment problems, i have 2k miles on my r888, 2 track days, 5 autox's and all my street mile driven with -2.0 camber,3/16ths toe out and they are still near new tread depth, maybe down 1/32 on the insides.

Crap I feel like I'm going to wear out my 57. I put almost 8k on her from late October to today. considering the amount of tweaking I've done and the number of parts I've swapped in and out trying to find shocks and swaybars that I liked she spent a fair amount of time on the lift or on stands. I'll be buying 2-3 sets a year, Oh well just going to have to buy a set of junker rims to beat on for a few weeks a year on the next one.
thanks again
