My 1963 Impala is currently equipped as such:
air suspension with relocated shocks in front, stock rear end, and front disc brake conversion (CPP minimum offset kit, makes track width 3/4" wider than stock).
I am thinking of going with a set of larger wheels. I noticed that the most common setup seems to be 18/20,which made me wonder why not do 20s all around?

Will I be able to lay her out if I go with a 20" (20x8-8.5 front, 20x10 rear) package on all 4? I have my eye on the Coys C-5. Would the 20x10 with 5.5" backspace fit on the rear? What works on the front? I was thinking of going with a 275/35/20 or 285/30/20 on the back. I like the low-pro look, so 30-35 series is preferred. Will it work?

TIA, guys!

The problem I had with 20's on the front is that they hit the inner fender wells before the car hit bottom. I had to cut and move the wheel wells to make them fit, but my car is a 62.

Thanks, brigzee. I believe my wheelwells are the same on the '63, so that leans me now towards 18s up front. Any suggestions on backspacing?

Have you tried to call Coys them selfs? I have a 63 also with the same brake problem and they told me what would work the best but i cant remember the backspacing right now. The guy on the phone told me they have people call everyday with the same problems with the brakes and different sizing so they know what would work. Hope this helps Jeff
