Hey guys, my name's Martin I'm in the Marines been in for 4 years now, just came across this site looking for ideas for my '72 firebird thats been in the family for a while. It's a work in progress but a slow process, I'm gonna get more into the build once I get out of the Marines. And now onto the pics.

Either rebuilding the engine and switching to a 4bbl edelbrock carb/manifold setup or maybe an LS1 swap, Air ride technologies suspension, I wanna go with those bandit snowflake wheels from Yearone with 18" up front and 20" in the back, not sure about the paint but thinking of a tinted cherry red.

That interior looks to be in surprisingly good shape compared to the outside :) Maybe leave the paint as is and go sleeper for a while :p

Hey I like your car, but am I the only one that doesnt like those hood scoops, It looks good from the front and coming at you, but not so good from the side, a nice cowl hood would look great but i know people like to keep it how it is, cool car btw

Welcome, that's a nice platform to start from. There is alot of potential there....I disagree with "baddestbuick" though, cowl hoods don't look that good on the f/b. Keep the hood you have or maybe a shaker hood.

Yeh, you should get rid of the crappy original Formula hood. It's probably even made of fibreglass.
[Let me know IMMEDIATELY where you chuck it]

It is tough building a car in the military. I have been interupted in the build process of my 70 'cuda by 4 deployments.
I wish you luck if you have to deploy again before you get out. I used the deplyments to save up money but you lose alot of time that you can spend on the car.
I think your car is awesome and is the third favorite car of mine. 1st is my car, 70 'cuda, second is a Judge, and your style of Firebird.
Kinda wierd being a Mopar guy with two Pontiac dream cars.

That car is BADA$$ bro-hams...hood is a KEEPER !!! :headbang:
You're going to have to put your 20 in before you can afford any car work with the peanuts you get paid (trust me, I know first hand).
Car is beautiful in its current state compared to what many of us start with. Good luck...

Awesome car, I was a hair away from buying a 72 as well. Love the honeycomb grill on that year! Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Nice ride - good luck on the restoration.
I say throw some sick wheels on it, wash off the dust, and roll out.
