Okay so I listed a 66 el camino project on ebay at $1000 with no reserve. It was a 10 day auction and as of last night there wer 4 days left. The car was up to $2000 with 12 bids and 112 people watching it. I have spent several hours of my time answering emails, calls and showing people the car. So last night I go to check out my auction when I notice that someone is selling a 2004 yamaha motorcycle under my user name with a starting price of $9.99. The picture of the bike was taken in some place back east because there was 2 feet of snow on the ground. It hasnt snowed where I live in centurys! So I went to bed and decided to deal with it when I got some free time at work. Well I check my ebay account again in the morning and it says its been suspended and that I am no longer a registered use. It then said I should be recieving a notification in my email from ebay. I have seen no such thing. Now I have dozens of people emailing me and asking why I ended the auction. What do I do now. Some creep is really messing things up for me. And ebay doesnt have any telephone numbers, only an email adress and the said they would answer it in 24-48 hours. This blows. Any Ideas. Please help.

lookslike someone swiped you user id, i would think they'd let the auction run out and try to collect $ on the car unless ebay some how discovered that your account had been hacked and locked your account. only suggestion i have is to wait for the replay email and try to recover your user id. if you have contact with the potential buyers maybe you could still sell the car for now. good luck.

Ebay basicly sucks.. I just sent an email to a guy last night that some had pics of his blue car for sale (a vibrant blue 69 RS/SS). The seller was doing no reserve (hint hint) and was in Florida..
I KNOW the owner is in Arizona..
Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see on Ebay. Also, they once suspended my account because some cheeseball stole my account name. Took a month to get it straightened out.

Yeah it really sucks because I was already in contact with the guy I use for shipping and I had already started prepping the car to be shipped. I cant wait to see what ebay says. I also remeber that someone had ebays phone number. Does anyone remeber what it was.

I too have had my user name stolen within the last month. I have never sold anything on e-bay and now all of a sudden I was selling electronics. We got a hold of e-bay and they suspended our account and told us to go and create a new user name and password. I asked them what about all the feedbacks, could they be transfered and they told us they would try. Needless to say we haven't set up anything as of yet and do not plan on it.

So, how in the world are all these accounts being stolen from Ebay?
Anyone have any ideas?

Ebay hasnt emailed me yet and hasnt answered my emails. Wat do i do. I basically have no way of getting in contact with them
well id go around them personally to finish selling the el camino. you still have everyones email right? just start sending out emails trying to explain what happened to the best of your knowledge and see if you can still find a buyer. after that id say screw ebay unless you really need it. that place always seems to have problems especially in high demand stuff like cars and electronics

re-register and run a 3 day auction and explain in the description what is up..unless you are happy with the price and just sell directly to one of the people no hassle now...something to consider..then sort it out whith e bay when they feal like talking with you..this way you can keep your buyers still on the rig...

A friend of mine had his ebay ID stolen. The guy put up a computer sold it. they guy who stole the id had the winning bidder send the money to Europe, and the auction is listed coming fron Col. ( a big hint) But the winner came after my friend for the item or the money.
Beware of phony emails supposed from ebay having you verify your account. They are scams to try and get your info. I figured it out by the first one I saw asked for my CC limit. I make it a rule to never give any important info to anyone requesting it in an email. I get them about every two weeks. Remember ebay will not start an email by "ebay user, or Ebay seller." If you click a link where it looks like a ebay log in screen. Use a bull@#@ log in one that no one would ever use( I use FU, but spelled out) If the link comtinues it is usually fake.
I usualy look at the address bar also as it will come up with other that ebay.com . If you think something is wrong with your ebay account and an email says so.
I got an email yesterday saying my ebay accout was suspended, I loger on the link as above, it came back FU your account was suspended. I know it was BS as I had just bid on an item about 10 minutes before.
Log on to ebay by typing ebay.com on your address line above which will take you to ebay, log into your account it will tell you if there is any problems. Also ebay wants to know if you get false emails, so send them the link.
I also get emails about my bank account( citibank, bank america, ETC. ) but don't have any accounts with those banks. I get emails from paypal on my ebay registered email( I keep the two seperate) and visa versa.

Well I figured it out. I changed my ebay password and got a new email. My old email still gets the emails sent somewhere else. I found that he had changed the primary adress to some wierd email. This is where it gets weird, I emailed the scammer a really nasty email. I guess he got offended because I recieved two calls from the guy and he sounded pissed off. Anyone know how to indetify where the guy lives just by his email?

Same thing happen to me awhile back. Ebay suspended my accont. Ebay thinks someone requested my username and password, then got into my email account to get the user name and password. Ebay made me change my email password before they would allow me to become a member again.
The person who stole it was also trying to sell electronic equipment. *******s!
