I used to lurk around here a lot when I had my '71 Chevelle (2004 join date and this is my first post, LOL)... and then got into older stuff and kinda forgot about you guys. My newest toy ('28 Model A) was a 6 month thrash; went from a bare perimeter frame to a 500 mile roadtrip and parking lot at a show in 6 months.

Well, in all of the thrashing I made more than one concession in the name of expediancy, and now to get the car how I originally envisioned it would involve a lot of undoing and redoing. Nuts to that. I'll keep driving it, but I'm starting from scratch on a new project and this time it will get done right.

Sooooooo... I'm going to build an Indy roadster.

It will have modern components but all of the visual cues (wheelbase, single seat, handformed aluminum body, etc, etc) of the original roadsters. Tube chassis, modern suspension and powerplant but skinned with a body that could pass as art.

I guess people have gotten tired of me just talking about it, and now they're really starting to push me into it  A friend said that if I build the chassis he'd give me a NIB P1SC and SBC EFI setup for much lower than cost. That pushed me over the edge, so here I am.

I want this car to be able to bust some ass on a track but also be Bonneville legal. I'll save all the tech questions for now, but I'm ready to start annoying the hell out of you guys. :bananna2:

My username isn't exactly fitting anymore... can I get a mod to change my username?

And it's not exactly PT, but here's a shot of my (very unfinished) current toy:
