Get the longest flexible sanding board that you can find. Check the Eastwood site.

Use a guide coat. I like to use the 3M dry guide coat. I had good luck with the black 3M foam blocks that come in various shapes and lengths.

What do you guys think of the air driven block sanders?

I have a Hutchins, I think it is the Hustler 2000. It does a great job on long panels and doesn't consume huge amounts of air like some of the others.

I LOVE that stuff.
Other than that. Take your TIME!!!!
I don't really like power sanders. When it comes time to turn off the DA I like to use my hands. I've achieved great results with paint sticks wrapped with sand paper and the 3M sanding blocks.

Make sure you use PSA (sticky) paper! The non-sticky paper will get a little loose, the suck down into the low spots and remove your guide coat leading you to think you have a flat panel when in fact you do not!
Shiny Side Up!
