So last Saturday when I was at the Auto-x this is what it looked like at O'hare airport ( 6.5 inches of rain ). I had 8 inches near my home and the basement took on water. Tuesday night I was cutting out the carpet and plunged a straight razor into my palm. The emergency room was packed, 3 1/2 hours later I was all stitched up. I finally had a chance to check the car out and the only issue I found was the driver side rear exhaust bolt and grommet was missing.

My drain backed up! Nothing I could do about that. I did not have a standpipe. My basement took 3-4" of water.
My in laws had a foot of water with TP and turds to go with it 3mi down the road! Yuck!

that's a great pic..........I'm out in Plainfield, and other than my pool overflowing into the yard all weekend, we had no water in the house.....thank goodness!!!!

Glad to hear you didn't suffer too much damage, and hope your hand heals ok. I never knew United was operating sea planes?!?!?! ;)

The flooding wasn't close to my townhouse in Carol Stream, but all the retention ponds in the area were flowing over the streets. Wheaton had a lot of flooding problems. My parents didn't have much water problems at all in Crystal Lake, sounds like the storm was a bit stronger to the south of them
