What's everyone think of this Supercharger?

I was dreaming of something fun I could do with the GM 350/330hp crate I have in the Monte.. It runs at 9.1 : 1 comp.

What about this supercharger?

Would it be a good match for the crate engine?

Found out a little more. Its actually made by Magna. Its an MP122 which is an OEM unit for the 4.8 to 6.0 LS engines. They claim 40% increase so I would be at around 462 hp which would be pretty fun for a street cruiser.

Nope sure wont. But it might be fun to work up some sort of satin black shaker style scoop and just cut a hole in the hood.

I like the OEM roots style for power on demand and drivability reasons.

This should be just right for a crate motor. It will up the low end torque and should keep boost levels safe. I've built a couple boosted cars now, it's the way to go!

I was going to go LSx on the Monte, but I think this route might be more fun. As long as I'm able to get use from the SC with 9:1 compression?

I'm going to start saving my pennies now. :) And I'll do the LSx thing with the Malibu.

Now thats a toy you will have fun with! Thats gonna wake the that small block up. Everybodys doing LS engines, dont get me wrong these motors are great, but that motor with a blower, the whine they make, as well as the power on demand and torque that they produce will be a heck of alot of fun! Put a shaker scoop or something along those lines and it will look and run killer. Just my 2 cents.....great idea though.

Do both; LSX + Magnacharger.

Hot Rod recently did a test using a GM crate engine and the Edelbrock/Magnuson blower combo. Something like high 400hp number if memory serves. The piston type is the most limiting factor.

With an MP122 + 350CI +9:1 you should be OK. The MP122 has a lot of capacity.
