OK. So . . ., I have a gas gauge in my 68 Camaro and want to replace it with a tach / clock. I have a seperate Autometer tach hooked up now. What else do I need besides the tach unit? Printed circuit board? wiring harness? The OER tach says it's "not for use with HEI systems." I found that Mallory and Accel make a "Tach Adapter" that runs about $100. ANYONE have any experience with this??? Is the adpater absolutely necessary?

Same question with putting gauges in the console. I have a set of factory gauges . . ., and I've found a console gauge wiring harness and an extension. Not quite clear as to where it plugs into the rest of the wiring in the car. Again I have all the same Autometer gauges (except for the gas gauge) already mounted toward the bottom of the dash.

How difficult is it to "stuff" this all in?

Any help would be appreciated. My apologies for being a newbie. :( No charge for all of you pointing and laughing. :)
