I've been autocrossing my '68 Camaro and improving all of the time but decided to buy some better wheels/tires to be more competitive.

The set-up is '68 camaro with SBC, aluminum heads, DSE coilover conversion with 550 lb springs up front, adjustable Konis (full soft), DSE PS, DSE drop leaf springs (175 lb) with Konis out back (1/4 turn off full soft). I was running wheel vintiques 17" billet rallyes with GY Eagle F1 GSD3's, 245 front, 275 rear. Font springs are preloaded 1 inch each so ride height is pretty level (about 2 inch drop all around). I haven't had the car on scales yet; if you want to guess at weight, i am running a TKO 600 with lakewood scattershield, Holley Stealth Ram intake, aluminum radiator, aluminum water pump, driveshaft, flywheel. 12 bolt rear. Baer track 13" up front, 12" rear. Only accessories are PS, water pump, and alternator.

I ordered the 17" Forgelines ZX3-Rs with Hoosier A6s (245s and 275s) from Frank and am wondering if i should change shock settings and/or alignment settings before my next race. I am currently running DSE specs for alignment: Caster +2° to +4°, Camber -1/2° to -1°, Toe In 0” to 3/32".

Obviously i've been to David's website here:
http://www.pozziracing.com/first_gen_suspension.htm#Alignment%20specs
as well as searched some of the threads, but haven't seen much for specific autocross settings, especially for r compounds.

Car is street legal but not driven much other than to the track. I'll run my GSD3s there and then switch wheels before teching in.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Well I'm of no help, but I have my eye on this thread!

BTW your site is great, I've been on there several times and I'm always impressed with the details that you take the time to convey...not to mention that I'm completely jealous that you flog your car! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with my project; I hope I can thrash my 68 soon like you do!

Sik68, glad you like it!! I have little, but pretty regular traffic. I'm getting my but kicked at work right now and preparing for a move from Hawaii back to mainland, but have some updates for the site as soon as i can get my head above water...

R Compounds just arrived yesterday and i intend to win C/P class next weekend and place top 40 cars overall (we usually have about 120 cars each weekend for the Honolulu autoX). I'll try to post update as soon as i can.

Thanks! Can you provide some more feedback on cars that have run these settings, etc.?

my test car at www.lecircuit.com, at local autox's and at run thru the hills, also dse cars run around -2.0 camber, 5 degrees caster, 30-32 psi in tires
plus its typical knowledge for a race prepped car
