OK guys second Gen looking at brake systems from Wilwood and the factory . Mainly a drag car for now. I know lighter is better but still needs to stop. I have a factory disc setup on the front and and extra TA rear disc setup for the rear.Going to use a manual MC.

Front has 2.9375 piston and 6.777 sq in. Pad is 13.8sq in. 11"(couldn't measure actual) rotor.
Rear has a 2.495 piston 4.889 sq in. pad area 8.125 sq in. 11.125 rotor.

Now Wilwood generally uses their Dynalite 1.75 4 piston caliper having 9.621 sq in, but only 6.195 sq in pad. Either a 10.75 or a 12.19 front rotor. So a really small pad. So how much if any an upgrade is it front and rear??

the Wilwood kit you mention is realy just a light wheight drag kit, I know some use it on the street but my experience with the Dynalite caliper for any other use but drag racing is not good, we have had some customers try them on their dirt LM cars and they just experienced too much brake fade after a few laps.

I know here alot of the Late Model asphalt cars used a GM type caliper for thicker rotors and seemed to stop well.

You would think with all the 2nd gens out there Wilwood might make a little more street/race set up with a bigger pad caliper like their GN, GT shoot even the Superlite is bigger than the Dynalite. Just take a new bracket, maybe bolting a thicker rotor to the hub and adapter ring.
