I have a 94 LT1 Caprice wiring harness and engine fuse box to install in my 68 camaro. Also have the AAW wiring harness. Anyone use the fuse box from a caprice? Which power wires hook up to the AAW harness or ignition switch. Very confused. Thanks

I suggest getting a copy of the source car wiring schematic. Use that to eliminate any circuits you won't need such as EGR, VATS, etc. Don't be afraid to cut out wires you don't need. Just BE SURE you are cutting out the right wires by double checking before you cut. I'm unsure where to tie in to the AAW harness. I used the original harness from my 68 and replaced the source wires with larger gauge wire as needed. One last bit from experience - DO NOT try to run your switched source through the ignition switch. It will not carry the load and will cause all kinds of odd problems. Use the switched source from the ignition switch to trigger a relay sourced directly from the battery through a fusible link. Hope this helps. PM me if I can help further.

Thanks GeoffP. Its the big red and pink wires coming out of the LT1 engine fuse panel that confuses me. Red is constant power and pink is switched. The LT1 fuse panel has a small fuel pump relay. The AAW harness has a large red wire labeled "ECM" and pink wire labeled "ignition" coming out of the firewall into the engine bay. Do I hook up these AAW wires to the red and pink wires on the LT1 fuse box. I do have the facory service manual and have deleted all wores not needed. Here is a pic

You got more than I did with my harness (mine was sourced from a 97 Firebird). I didn't have the fuse/relay box with my harness so I used a small four fuse box and Bosch style relays for everything. Having said this, I think you're safe to hook red to red and pink to pink. It should operate as expected. Is that relay broken? If so, it may cause problems in the future because relays don't like moisture due to corrosion issues, etc. Let me know if I can help more.

Thanks again GeoffP. Are you saying I should not run the pink(switched) wire to the engine fuse box from the ignition switch? How would i wire a relay from the ign switch to the box in the photo above?
