Weighs 2000 lbs. kit. Hardtop adds power windows $1700 extra I think I read. Tuned properly IMO a small V8 I would think could get close to 35 mpg highway. At least it would be fun trying. On their website there's a vid of their nasty sounding 'demo' doing an autocross.
Here's the difference I like over their Cobra 'replicant'. The builder doesn't need a donor car, but rather "its a complete kit with all-new parts save for running gear."

Agreed.
I don't know much about the 32-33 Ford replica industry, but I don't recall seeing any other companies doing a very complete kit like this, and at this price and seemingly this quality .
Are there?

My father in law built a glass bodied 32 on a TCI frame. It WAS his dream car. Thing is too damned cramped for him. Looks great though.

Quite a bit it seems...in the OP there is a link to the page with the autocross vid. One of the owners said he fought doing a 32-33 for years because of the ones he drove and/or rode in didn't handle well. Wheelbase is 22 " longer than their Cobra. Car is 3" wider than the original '33. To me it looked like it handled well in the video.
Some chops..

Seems like a damn good price for what you are getting. Definatly different in my book and I'd buy it in a second. A Factory Five replica has always been on my short list of cars I want to build.

Some will like that it takes a lot of guesswork out of the process meaning on the road sooner obviously. Others won't like the loss of individuality. But since FF has sold 6000+ Cobra replicas which are hard to give a different look, this one at least you can do more things of course to the body; fenders etc. Hardtop option is a big plus. It will be interesting to see if this thing outsells the Cobra replica. A lot of their current customers I think are buying one. They could have another real big hit on their hands.

Here are a few more photoshops (Not mine). There is an option for fenders and for the hard top.

Hmm, I kind of like it too, and for the price tag, it doesn't seem like you can go wrong. Would be a fun build, and sounds as though they want you to throw it through the twisties, which is awesome. Looking forward to seeing a few of these in person.

I like it a lot, but too bad no Chevy LS engine options without doing it yourself. Factory Five seems to like keeping it all Ford.

Obviously 'cuz there are so many possible engine combinations they just felt they had to draw the line somewhere. You know some company will offer an LS swap kit probably in the not to distant future.

We should see them soon since FF designated some folks 'beta builders' and they got kits back in mid July. It will be interesting to see how well they handle.

I really like that look! Just have to put a Chevy motor in it, I wonder if a BBC would fit? :ssst:
Must finish... current.. project first... Before... starting... a.. new one...

How does a BBC compare in size to the Ford Mod 4.6? The 4.6 is huge and the frame was designed to hold that engine.
I tried to search online to see if there were any sites that had dimensions of the various engines.
I'm going to be buying this car after I move next summer. I'm keeping an eye on the build posts over at ffcobra.com. I think it would be cool to drop in something like a 390FE and dress it up like a 427. The 390 is pretty cheap compared to the 427/428 blocks and I think it's still smaller than the 4.6. A hemi would be really cool too.

FYI, only Ford motor mounts available from FFR for the first 2 years per Dave Smith's contact with Ford for their SEMA Build.

Good info Ryan...shops will be busy obviously stepping up to fill the need for non Ford motor installations in the meantime.

Nice look, huh?
I'm not saying using tires that skinny but IMHO the car has a 'rich' feel to it. I'd buy some hi speed rated lower profile tires and have Diamond Back put some semi wide white stripes on 'em. I like the roof treatment also. Something to be said for lack of a hood.

I was thinking going flat black with red/green wheels with the white walls. Could be sweet!

I've been on the fence about a real hot rod build after building my current '69. This definitly puts that thought at the front of my mind!
I only wish it was a 29 Ford truck tho....

Ah, just a little glass work for a talented guy to turn it into a '29.:poke:
