Now I am almost finished with my car I get the feeling I need to do something else.
I mean, I am very happy with what I have achieved, it runs and looks great, just some minor things need to be done but I am thinking about my next project.
My head is filled with plans and builds...but my bank account says no.
I would have to sell the Camaro to be able to start a new project.
(just saw an unbuilt Ultima GTR kit for 1/2 the new price, one of the things on my whish list)
Do you guys know this feeling and what did you do about it?

Enjoy what you have built imho. I'm sure you can find stuff to tinker with even on your finished project like you said minor things.

when I finish my car I need to save to build my ultimate garage.
building the dream garage is next.
guess i should have done it before the car but I want to enjoy the car now. Who knows when Ill get the cash together for the garage.

I know the drill! I think I like building them up more than I like "owning" them once finished. >sigh< I always sell the latest and move to the next shortly after I get it done.:pat:

Yeah, that's something I never understood. I guess you have to know yourself well enough when you start a build. Are you building it to see what you can build, are you building it to drive, or to sell?? As far as I'm concerned if you ever label it as a project, well then it's something that when "done", it's time to sell/trade. If it's you car, then you work on it in between driving it. I will never have a "project" because those should come to an end. My "car" will never be finished, and it's so damn much fun to drive!!!!!

Take it out and prove what it can do. Get it dialed in to be respectable no matter where you take it - dragstrip, road course, autocross, Silver State...anywhere a street-licensed car can be driven as hard as possible in a legal manner, take it!
Get data on it! Work to improve it until it's as good as it can possibly be everywhere. For instance, I'm just finishing up my wagon, and I want to get it out to the dragstrip and dial it in to run as well as it can out there. I might even get some 9x30 slicks and hook up a 100 hp nitrous squirt to really have fun with it out there. Then I want to autocross it, and get the suspension totally figured out for handling. Then I want to take it to a Track Day or two at one or both of the great road courses out here near me (Brainerd Intl Raceway and Road America in WI) and see if I can get it to pull 1G in the corners. I might even hit that nitrous on the long straightaways!
I really want to run Silver State too, and this car could do it.
I mean, I get what you're saying about selling the car, but wouldn't it be easier to sell for more money if you had performance data to back it up? If you could say the car could run 11s, pull a full G or more in the corners, and comfortably run at 150-plus for sustained periods, wouldn't that be impressive? Especially if you had all the paperwork to back it up.
Building a car is one thing- tuning all of it to perform at its peak is a whole 'nother deal. It's certainly more kinetic than building the car was, and isn't hauling ass the purpose of the car anyway?
I build fast cars for me to drive fast- not some future owner...at least not until I've pushed it as far as I'd like to anyway...!
Besides- you learn a LOT about cars by dialing them in!

Well, I do drive it whenever I can....but I did not build it to sell it... I think building a car is what keeps me going, the creative process.
maybe the road to the goal is more important than the goal itself.
Scott, here in the Netherlands we have no permanent drag race tracks....only 3 races a year on an airstrip....
Autocross is something that is unknown here...that only leaves a roadtrack...there is 1 circuit in my neigbourhood but there are very few occasions where you can run your roadcar there.
So options on running the car in motorsport events are very limited here unfortunately.

Martin,
you shouldnt be that far from the Nordschleife, I have been there a few times so why not take a few weekends there during the year??.

Andre, it's a 225mile one way trip (4hours) so it's not real close. (to European standards)
I would also have to investigate availability of LPG along the route to get there.
But it might be an option to try that one day......
