Ok, a good portion of us talk on here about how to get high power to weight ratio's. I'm just wondering if anyone can think of things you can do with your life to get high glory to work ratio's? Lol Or even name things that def don't have high glory to work ratio's.
ummmmm. Teacher comes to mind. Nurses also.
I think it changes as you get older though,....you see and get value differently as you progress through life.
Now, on a car-guy tip, I'd think that FOOSE, Trepanier, Nelson, etc must get major glory - work ratio's. Talk about a feel-good job!

What do you mean by glory?
If you mean public acclaim, be in a band, write a self-help book, or generally kick ass in any field with a significant fan base (sports/movies/cars/etc.)
If you want critical acclaim, or praise from those who actually know of what they speak, then pick a career you really enjoy, learn to be the best at it, and open up your own shop. People will notice.
If you want to minimize the glory, then either do whatever you're doing really half-assed, or go to work in a poorly managed company where your talents/efforts are irrelevant because politics and working to check off the boxes to get a good review rather than actually doing what's best for the company are what's important.
If you're looking for something to do in your spare time, start a band, or pick an activity you really like and either excel at it, or start an entertaining blog / website / REALLY INTERESTING FORUM about it (or both).
One sure thing, every hour spent on TV/surfing the internet/snacking/napping/working in a dead-end job/etc. equals an hour (day) further from glory.

Low glory to work (stress) = Preacher/Pastor of a church. (A GOOD one! LOL!) They got all the problems of everyone elses on thier shoulders and can't tell anyone or talk to anyone about it. AND they must remain "blameless" with "no problems of thier own".........or at least they must appear that way.
High glory to work = I don't know for sure, everything has its price!

USCG Aviator.
The accolades come only from those you rescue, your fellow Aviators, and your family. But honestly, who else matters?

What Damn True said.
Also the USAF Pararescue. Perhaps the least known special forces unit, they're the super badass guys who go behind enemy lines to rescue downed pilots.
Of course, those jobs involve a TREMENDOUS amount of work, so maybe the ratio isn't that great.
