whats a decent laptop for $500????

is that even possible? I want a larger screen and i DO NOT play games on line. I do need wireless and high speed.

it would be used for hp tuners and online courses.

I have a Vaio with a 15" LCD that I would be willing to sell for $225. It has wireless, a decent size hard drive and the sony screen (it looks beautiful)

If you are interested let me know

Check out the Dell refurbished store. You should be able to meet your needs for that price.

Do searches on www.newegg.com, stick with anything with an AMD processor as the Intells are running so freakin hot, my cousin got burnt on her "lap" and legs, had bathroom issues for a month.
Trust me and also dont thing about running ANY Vista operating system with out at least 1 gigabyte of ram, would prefer 2 to 3 GB of ram, and look them over as some will be higer or lower , free shipping, etc, and look at anything 64 bit or X2 will last for several years, Phenom chips out ar tri core and quad core but you wont need anything that hot.
Good Luck

On the Dells I buy for our school districts, we get the Vista downgrade license for XP.
